TRT Anatolian Design System

I led the 'Anatolian Design System' to unify TRT's multi-brand identity and accelerate development cycles using a reusable, Figma-based component system.

problem

TRT's vast portfolio of channel websites (TV, radio) was technologically outdated and lacked brand consistency. With each project assigned to a different designer, teams were working in silos. This forced the development team to code components from scratch for every new site, resulting in a massive drain on time, effort, and resources.

solution

The solution was to build a centralized, scalable design system ("Anatolian Design System") to serve all TRT products. A flexible component library was created in Figma using variables, semantic color naming, and full Dark/Light mode support. This allowed developers to code components just once while enabling designers to build projects rapidly.

The goal of renewing the digital face of Turkey's largest broadcaster was blocked by a fragmented structure and a heavy, repetitive workload. I saw this chaos as an opportunity, sparked by the idea, "Why don't we build one system to feed all our products?" This was the foundation of the Anatolian Design System.

My goal in building this system wasn't just aesthetic unity; it was to introduce radical efficiency to the development process. The flexible architecture built in Figma allowed developers to code a component only once. When a new channel site was needed, all they had to do was change the predefined color palette.

Once the Anatolian Design System went live, website projects that once took months were completed in a fraction of the time. Most importantly, users visiting any TRT site—from TRT 1 to TRT Sports—now experience a consistent quality and harmony across all digital assets. This project allowed us to deliver a first-class, functional, and cohesive user experience to millions.
