TRT CMS System
To end TRT's reliance on external content management systems, I designed the core interface for the in-house CMS that now powers major channels like TRT 1, TRT Spor, and TRT 2.
problem
TRT was dependent on third-party CMS platforms that couldn't fully meet its unique needs, creating inflexible and difficult workflows for editors. The organization needed to build its own system, fully tailored to its dynamic content (like managing series, programs, episodes, and trailers).
solution
The solution was to design a custom, in-house CMS from the ground up in collaboration with the product, UX, and development teams. We delivered an easy-to-use, powerful interface that editors preferred over the old systems. This platform centralized all critical operations, including detailed content (series, film) management, bulk image uploading, and ad, menu, and pop-up management.
We set out to fundamentally change how TRT managed its digital assets: the decision was made to build our own engine, by our own rules, rather than rely on external, cumbersome CMS platforms.
This project was more than just an interface design; it was building an ecosystem. Alongside the product and development teams, we started by asking, "How can we make an editor's life easier?" We listed requirements and jointly decided on the system's architecture and logic. My task was to translate this complex structure (managing series, episodes, cast lists, ad placements) into the simplest, most error-free interface possible in Figma.
Once the system went live, editors no longer had to switch between multiple tools to input content. Today, the massive operations of TRT 1, TRT Spor, and TRT 2 are all powered by the interfaces I designed. This was a huge step forward for the institution's digital independence and operational efficiency.
